We are completely taken back and saddened by the news of the passing of our studio family member, Matthew Denham. Our condolences go out to Matt’s family.
He was a one of a kind individual, and we were very fortunate to have the pleasure of knowing and working with him.

Every time the dancing lady on the bathroom wall tries to make us smell her armpit, we will think of you.

Recording for album #2 has officially begun in Memphis at @samphillipsrecording after a whole lot of quarantine writing. Really can't express how good it feels to bring these new songs to life and work with the flat-out brilliant @monsieurmatt and the equally brilliant musicianship of @willsextonmemphis @ken.coomer @ricksteff and Dave Smith, along with ridiculously attentive work from @wes_lee_ . The follow up to Wooden Cave is already taking a shape that's wholly more beautiful than what I was envisioning sitting in my Queens apartment three months ago. More updates to come...

Remembering the late, great Roland Janes today on his 87th birthday. Roland was a fixture in Memphis music from his time on guitar with Jerry Lee Lewis and at Sun, to his days as a studio owner of Sonic studio, to his days at Sam Phillips Recording as an engineer and studio manager. It is with a saddened heart that I have to write this about the passing of my brother Knox Phillips..He was my friend, mentor and advisor..He even beat a couple of older guys up that were picking on me while I was in elementary school, before I became a fighter myself..That’s what big brothers do..He was the heartbeat of our family throughout his entire music career and life..I will miss him every time l walk into our studio or write a song or play one..
Love you brother...Rock on...

Esquire just named @missmargoprice ‘s record “All American Made” as one of ten best albums of the decade !!! It sure has a special place in my heart. Any day I get to be in a room with Margo, Jeremy (those songs!)and their incredible band is a good ass day. This was also one of the first albums I recorded at @samphillipsrecording . Back in April I had the pleasure of getting to work with @monsieurmatt (Matt Ross- Spang) on a song for his Amazon Originals Produced By series. He let me pick this old Tom Paxton song, “The Last Thing On My Mind” to work up with Dom Billett, Jerry Bernhardt, and Ben Tanner at the famed @samphillipsrecording studio. A dream come true to work with Matt, and to sing and hear it bounce around those Sam Phillips echo chambers. “Well I could have loved you better; I didn’t mean to be unkind.
